Alyssa Le Lievre is a Senior Solicitor at Checketts McKay Law and a key member of the firm’s Family Law and Relationship Property teams.

Alyssa advises clients on a wide range of family law matters, including relationship property divisions, care of children arrangements, family violence proceedings and Family Protection Act claims. She regularly represents clients in the Alexandra and Queenstown Family Courts and has strong experience in Family Court litigation and dispute resolution. She works closely with Director Justine Baird as part of the firm’s relationship property and family law team.

Alyssa is an approved Lead Family Legal Aid provider and has particular expertise in navigating Legal Aid processes. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked as a Grants Officer for Legal Aid Services, giving her a detailed understanding of the Legal Aid system and enabling her to guide clients through the process efficiently and effectively.

Alyssa began her legal career in Porirua, where she gained valuable experience in family law and Family Court proceedings. Since joining Checketts McKay Law, she has continued to develop her practice and is increasingly recognised for her ability to manage complex and sensitive matters with confidence and care.

Alyssa is known for her empathetic and pragmatic approach. She takes the time to understand her clients’ individual circumstances and provides clear, practical advice to help them navigate what are often challenging and highly personal situations.
