Bridget Liggins is a Senior Solicitor at Checketts McKay Law and a key member of the firm’s Family Law and Relationship Property teams. Based in Wanaka, Bridget advises individuals and families across the Upper Clutha and wider Central Otago region on a range of family, personal and property matters.

Bridget works closely with Director Justine Baird and the wider family law team, assisting clients through separation, relationship property matters and issues relating to the care of children. She is known for her thoughtful and conscientious approach, helping clients navigate difficult situations with clear advice and practical solutions.

Bridget regularly advises clients on relationship property issues arising from separation, including the division of assets, trusts and property interests. She focuses on helping clients reach sensible and workable outcomes while protecting their long-term interests.

Prior to joining Checketts McKay Law, Bridget worked as a registrar at the Hastings District Court. This experience gave her valuable insight into court processes and the practical operation of the legal system, which she now applies when advising clients on family law and dispute-related matters.

Alongside her family and relationship property practice, Bridget assists clients with residential property transactions and estate planning. She advises on wills, trusts and asset planning, helping clients structure their affairs clearly and ensure their assets are protected for the future.

Bridget works closely with clients throughout Wanaka and the Upper Clutha region and understands the particular issues that arise for families and property owners in the area.
