Karleigh Hoera is a Senior Associate at Checketts McKay Law and a key member of the firm’s Relationship Property and Employment teams. She advises individuals, families and businesses across Central Otago on a range of personal and commercial legal matters, with a particular focus on relationship property, employment law and estate planning.
Karleigh is known for her ability to quickly identify the key issues in complex situations and guide clients toward practical solutions. Her calm and considered approach allows her to cut through the noise and focus on achieving the best outcome for her clients. Much of Karleigh’s work comes through personal recommendations from clients who value her clear communication, practical advice and steady guidance through difficult situations.
Karleigh regularly advises clients on relationship property matters arising from separation, including the division of assets, trusts and property interests. She works closely with clients to navigate the legal and practical issues involved in relationship property disputes while helping them move forward with confidence.
Alongside her relationship property practice, Karleigh advises employers and employees on a range of employment matters including employment agreements, workplace disputes and health and safety issues.
Karleigh also has strong experience in wills, trusts, estates and asset planning. She assists individuals and families to structure their affairs clearly and ensure their assets are protected and passed on in accordance with their intentions.
In addition to her advisory work, Karleigh assists clients with residential property transactions across Central Otago and understands the importance of careful management and clear communication throughout the sale and purchase process.
Karleigh is deeply connected to the Cromwell community and is actively involved in several local organisations. She is currently a trustee of the Lake Dunstan Charitable Trust and a member of the Cromwell College Board of Trustees.
