Caitlin Addison is a Solicitor at Checketts McKay Law and is based in the firm’s Wanaka office. She is a key member of the firm’s Employment Law, Commercial and Property teams, advising businesses, employers and individuals across the Wanaka and Upper Clutha region.

Caitlin assists clients on a wide range of employment matters, including employment agreements, workplace issues, disciplinary processes and dispute resolution. She works closely with the firm’s employment team to provide clear, practical advice to employers and employees navigating workplace matters.

Alongside her employment law practice, Caitlin advises clients on commercial and property matters including business sales and purchases, commercial leasing and residential and commercial property transactions. She regularly works with business owners and investors to ensure transactions are structured effectively and aligned with their broader commercial objectives.

Caitlin began her legal career in Wellington at a large national law firm, where she gained experience across the property and construction sectors. This background has provided her with a strong foundation and exposure to complex commercial matters early in her career.

She also worked as a solicitor for the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State Care, where she developed experience handling sensitive and complex legal issues. This work has strengthened her ability to approach matters with care, professionalism and sound judgement.

Caitlin is known for her calm and considered approach and her ability to provide clear, thoughtful advice. She works closely with clients to understand their objectives and support them through both day-to-day legal matters and more complex transactions.

Caitlin works closely with local businesses and clients in Wanaka and the Upper Clutha region, providing practical legal advice across employment, commercial and property matters.
